More than 150 Somerset County residents gathered on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for the annual Aging and DisABILITY Resource Expo, an event dedicated to helping older adults and individuals with disabilities access the tools, services, and support they need to age with dignity, independence, and choice.
Commissioner Elizabeth Graner and Surrogate Bernice “Tina” Jalloh attended the Expo, engaging directly with residents and community partners throughout the day. This year’s theme—personal empowerment—was reflected in every workshop, demonstration, and resource table available to attendees.
“There are over 64,000 residents aged 65 and older who call Somerset County home,” Commissioner Graner noted. “Somerset County is committed to supporting the wellness and longevity of our growing senior population.”
Hosted by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, the Expo featured a wide range of programs designed to help residents navigate aging safely at home and in the community. Attendees explored information on long‑term services and supports, caregiver resources, wellness programs, benefits screening, and options counseling. Staff were also available to discuss transportation assistance, senior center membership, and strategies for aging in place.
