Sonic Impact Scholarship Program Open Through October 31

AUBURN, Ala., Oct. 14, 2025 -- Sonic USA, a leading provider of professional-grade tool solutions and equipment, today announced that it is accepting applications for the Fall 2025 Sonic Impact Scholarship Program until Friday, October 31.

The program is designed to equip the next generation of automotive, aviation, and manufacturing technicians with hand tools that empower young professionals to pursue careers in their chosen industry. Sonic awarded five scholarships in June and will provide five more in November to deserving students. Each recipient will be awarded a comprehensive set of tools and a toolbox curated for their given trade with retail values exceeding $9,000.

Recognizing the critical technician shortage and the impact that skilled technicians make in their industries and communities, Sonic created the Impact Scholarship Program to help fulfill the company's mission of providing a pathway for technicians into lucrative careers across aviation, automotive, and manufacturing. Each scholarship winner will receive a comprehensive toolset vetted by technical instructors, industry leaders, and Sonic senior leadership within their industry of choice, featuring premium hand tools that will jumpstart their respective educational and career prospects.

"A successful career as a technician starts with pairing education with access to the right tools for the job from day one," said Colby McConnell, CEO, Sonic USA. "With our Sonic Impact Scholarship Program, we are making a direct impact on the lives of aspiring technicians by rewarding their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice to their trade with premium hand tools all stored within the Sonic Foam System (SFS) and our dedicated toolboxes."

Rewarding Students Who Exemplify PACE Values

Designed to support technicians who live by the values of passion, accountability, collaboration, and experience (PACE) values, Sonic is seeking applicants who share the following traits:

  • Passion: An unparalleled enthusiasm about what one does.
  • Accountability: Being dependable, caring about, and taking responsibility for one's work.
  • Collaboration: Working with others to achieve the best version of work.
  • Experience: Providing an 'unbeatable experience' for customers, peers, and co-workers.

How to Apply

Students committed to their trade can apply online, providing the following information:

  • Proof of enrollment in an automotive, aviation, or manufacturing trade school (class schedule or student ID).
  • Letter of recommendation from the students' instructor (include contact information).
  • 500-word essay on how the student exemplifies the values of P.A.C.E. while explaining "How I will make an impact".
  • 60 - 90 second video on "How Sonic will impact one's career."

Sonic will review and analyze all applicants' entries. Sonic may choose to contact the students for additional information and reserves the right to contact their instructors. Sonic will choose five scholarship winners, in November, and will reach out to them directly.
