SCVTHS Student of the Month for October 2025 – Yveth Aldaz

BRIDGEWATER –Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS) is pleased to announce that Yveth Aldaz, a Junior in the Health Occupations program, has been selected as Student of the Month for October 2025. Yveth is the daughter of Melida Bonilla of Bound Brook.

Several teachers nominated Yveth for this honor, citing her enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to participate in classroom activities and help her peers. They also state that she is a hardworking, dedicated student who consistently works to improve her skills, whether in the classroom or on the athletic field.

Yveth is actively engaged in a number of extracurricular activities, including the HOSA-Future Health Professionals Club, Rotary Club, and peer mentoring. She is also a Student Ambassador, and visits schools throughout the county to talk about SCVTHS. In addition, Yveth is a student-athlete, playing on the varsity soccer team at SCVTHS and participating in winter and spring track for Bound Brook.

When she is not at school, Yveth has volunteered at the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter in Bridgewater and St. Joseph Catholic Church in North Plainfield. She has been certified in CPR/AED and Emergency Medical Response. She also works at the Auntie Anne’s location in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. In her down time, Yveth enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her dog.

Yveth is hoping to pursue a career in nursing, and is planning to start her post-high school education at Raritan Valley Community College before transferring to another college or university to complete her four-year degree.
