The Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ swim team capped an impressive season with a state title on Wednesday, February 25, earning the program’s sixth Group A state championship and its first since 2019.

Ranked No. 3 in New Jersey, Bridgewater-Raritan delivered a strong performance at the Neptune Aquatic Center, defeating No. 10 Cherry Hill East, 102.5–67.5, in the Group A double dual meet. Under Coach Chris Levin, the Panthers closed the season with a 12–1 record.

Their championship run was fueled by a dramatic 86–85 victory over Somerset County rival Hillsborough in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group A semifinal on February 9. Bridgewater-Raritan entered that meet ranked eighth, while Hillsborough held the No. 2 spot and had handed the Panthers their only loss of the season just weeks earlier. The narrow win reignited Bridgewater-Raritan’s momentum, leading to a 93.5–76.5 victory over sixth‑ranked Westfield in the sectional final on February 12 and a decisive 100–70 win over No. 17 East Brunswick in the state semifinals on February 19.

The excitement extended across the pool deck that same morning, as the top‑ranked Bridgewater-Raritan boys’ team earned its own Group A state championship with a 108–62 win over No. 4 Hillsborough. That victory marked the boys’ fifth state title and first since 2018.

Together, the two programs delivered a memorable sweep for the district, reinforcing Bridgewater-Raritan’s reputation as one of New Jersey’s premier swimming communities.
