Route 22 left lane closures in both directions beginning Monday in North Plainfield, Somerset County
(Trenton) – Route 22 is scheduled have left lane closures in both directions on Monday for median concrete barrier repairs in North Plainfield, Somerset County.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, March 2 until 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, the left lane and shoulder on Route 22 eastbound and westbound are scheduled to be closed between Malcolm Avenue and the Walmart Shopping Center. At least one lane will be maintained on Route 22. The closures are necessary for median concrete barrier repairs. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
The $8.5 million state-funded maintenance project will make repairs to concrete structures in various locations across Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Warren counties.
Variable Message Signs will provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
