At their bimonthly meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners presented two proclamations honoring important health and wellness initiatives taking place throughout March.
The first proclamation recognized Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Month, drawing attention to a disease that affects nearly one million Americans. The County’s acknowledgment supports ongoing efforts to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and highlight the resources available to individuals and families impacted by MS.
The second proclamation celebrated Living Well Month, led by Somerset County Family & Community Health Sciences (FCHS). Throughout March, FCHS is promoting a holistic approach to wellness by spotlighting the eight components of well‑being:
physical, emotional, social, intellectual, financial, environmental, spiritual, and occupational. Their month‑long initiative encourages residents to explore practical ways to strengthen each area and build healthier, more balanced lives.
Together, these proclamations reflect Somerset County’s continued commitment to supporting community health, raising awareness, and empowering residents with tools to thrive.
