ICYMI - Woman tries to pay as she likes it with fake bills at As You Like It Ice Cream Shop in Raritan

The Raritan Borough Police Department announced the filing of charges against Maria Orellana-Galvez, 33, of Bound Brook, for Forgery and Theft by Deception. On December 18th, 2024, Raritan patrol officers were dispatched to As You Like It Ice Cream on West Somerset Street for a report of a woman who had "paid" for items totaling $72.00 with two fraudulent $100.00 bills. Through various investigative means and with the assistance of the public, Orellana-Galvez was identified as the suspect by the Criminal Investigation Division. Charges were filed against Orellana-Galvez on January 1st, 2025. A court appearance is pending
