New Nature Programs for Kids Available at Environmental Education Center in October

BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Children ages four to ten can engage in exciting outdoor activities while exploring and learning at the Environmental Education Center (EEC). The EEC at Lord Stirling Park is offering nature programs in October at 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. The cost ranges from $30 to $45 per person. Online registration is open now.

The EEC is nestled within 500 acres of the western portion of the Great Swamp. Various habitats including swamps, rivers, marshes, meadows, ponds, and forests, provide homes for diverse plant and animal populations in this environmentally sensitive park where people of all ages will have fun learning about nature.

The following programs are available:

Swamp Kids, Ages 8 to 10, Thursdays, Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24, 4 to 5 p.m. – In this outdoor, after-school series, children will channel their curiosity and passion for nature while exploring the Great Swamp. Register.

Tree House Gang, Ages 4 to 5, Mondays, Oct. 7, 21 and 28, 1 to 2:30 p.m. – Kids will love exploring, playing, and learning about nature, meeting live critters, and story time. Register.

KinderNats, Ages 5 to 7, Mondays, Oct. 7, 21, and 28, 4 to 5 p.m. – Junior nature lovers will enjoy participating in hiking and other nature activities. Register.
