County-Operated Senior Wellness Centers Closed February 6 and 7 for Service Enhancements
SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ – All county-operated senior wellness centers will be temporarily closed on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7, while staff learns how to use the new automated check-in system.
Congregate Lunch Service and Home Delivered Meals will not be available on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7, but clients of Home Delivered Meals will receive frozen meals in advance.
During the first week of the check-in system launch, staff will be available in the lobby of all senior wellness centers to help clients and visitors use the new system. Clients will receive a key tag to swipe for check-in and to register for activities, or they will have the option to use the touch screen.
Benefits of Service Enhancement
“The new system provides numerous benefits such as improving the registration process, program scheduling, and reporting,” said Somerset County Commissioner Paul M. Drake. “The system’s robust reporting functions provide us with the opportunity to apply for more grant funding, and in turn, continue to enhance our senior wellness centers.”
“This system is more efficient than using paper and pen for registration,” said Office on Aging and Disability Services Executive Director Joanne Fetzko. “We have many people walking in and out of the senior centers so this tool will help us save time and manpower during the registration and check-in process, and we will be better able to keep track of visitors.”
