The Dubai Chocolate Craze: Where to Find It Near Somerset County

If you’ve scrolled TikTok or Instagram lately, you’ve likely seen it: smooth and silky pistachio cream, crunchy golden strands, creamy chocolate—an indulgent dessert bar known simply as Dubai chocolate. First made famous by Dubai’s Fix Dessert Chocolatier with their viral "Can’t Get Knafeh of It" bar, this Middle Eastern-inspired treat has since made its way into U.S. grocery stores and local bakeries in a big way.

You may have seen it around - now Somerset County is getting a taste.

While the original Dubai bars are only officially sold in Dubai, copycat versions and inspired takes are popping up across New Jersey, blending rich chocolate, kataifi pastry (similar to shredded phyllo), pistachio, and even tahini for a flavor profile that’s both ancient and trendy.

Here are some of the best places in and around Somerset County, Raritan Neighbors has found where you can get your hands on this global treat—or something deliciously close. Call first before you visit to make sure its still available and the cost

Bridgewater Commons – Showcase (Near Food Court)

The Showcase shop located inside Bridgewater Commons—just steps away from the food court—is carrying the popular Dubai Chocolate bar. A social media post from Bridgewater Commons confirms:

“Been on the hunt for the famous Dubai chocolate bar? Your search is over! Head on over to Showcase, near the food court, and treat yourself to a little luxury!” FacebookInstagram

The Showcase USA website lists Dubai Chocolate Bars (specifically “Pistachio by Oasis Treasures”) available in the Bridgewater, NJ location.

Kapadokya Turkish Bakery – New Brunswick

120 Albany St, New Brunswick, NJ
Known for its fresh pistachio desserts and Turkish coffee, this authentic bakery offers sweets that come close to the texture and richness of Dubai chocolate, including pistachio baklava and chocolate-kadayif treats.

Sweet Dip – New Brunswick

119 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ
This boutique dessert shop specializes in dipped confections and rotating chocolate bar flavors that mimic viral trends. Ask for their pistachio cream specials or check their Instagram for pop-up Dubai-inspired bars.

Paris Baguette – Bound Brook & Montgomery, NJ locations

Though not a Middle Eastern bakery, Paris Baguette has added pistachio‑chocolate pastries that trend-watchers say “hit the Dubai note.” A sweet detour worth trying.

Trader Joe’s – Bridgewater, North Brunswick, or Princeton

Just this summer, Trader Joe’s launched a viral hit of its own—a pistachio-tahini chocolate bar filled with crunchy kadayif that closely mimics the Dubai dessert. At just $3.99, it’s the most accessible option for the curious chocolate connoisseur.

Costco – Edison or North Plainfield - On occasion Bridgewater too!

Look for Bouchard’s Dubai Chocolates—individually wrapped pieces with knafeh and pistachio filling. They’ve been flying off shelves and are perfect for gifting (or secretly snacking at your desk).  A few times they've been in the Bridgewater location - but no information on when it will be there again.

A Dessert with a Story

More than just a sweet treat, Dubai chocolate speaks to a global fusion of cultures—melding the textures of Turkish and Levantine desserts with the Instagram-friendly appeal of a luxury chocolate bar. While Somerset County may be miles away from Dubai, the flavor trend has landed here with enthusiasm—and flavor to spare.

So whether you're chasing the viral moment or just looking for your next indulgence, consider taking a little chocolate tour through our area. You may not need a passport—but a sweet tooth is definitely required.
