BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Discover the fascinating history of colonial life in Somerset County at the annual Lord Stirling 1770s Festival on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is held at Lord Stirling's Manor House, located on 96 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Experience the daily life of a thriving Eighteenth Century community with colonial-themed reenactors, live music, festive performances, and hands-on activities.
Colonial craftspeople will also showcase their unique trades as a Town Crier announces the local news. Craft sales are prohibited to ensure an enjoyable and educational living history event.
In addition, attendees can learn about Somerset County’s Revolutionary War hero, Lord Striling, and interact with colonial militia and visit their colonial camps on the former estate lawn of Lord Stirling.
The event is rain or shine. In the event of rain, the festival will take place at the Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road.
